[Lulu]

Lulu smiled at Nova and cupped her hands to grab some water, rubbed her hands, then repeated the process but smoothed the water over her face. After a minute or two nothing sticky was left, but the kid managed to get her jacket and skirt all wet. Not that she minded personally; she wanted to play! So she waited for the signal from Nova that she was permitted to go run around.

Nova started to notice that Lulu was waiting for him to say something for her to play, by now he could tell by the way she looked at him. Nova decided to let her get used to doing what she wants and walked over to the bench and sat down, he started to look away to the right and left, until after some time just kept his head looking up at the sky. Slowly started zoning out thinking about what could be happening to Rose lately, but also other things that were on his mind, Quests, Peopls and just alot on his mind.

Lulu didn't take the hint, not understanding why Nova didn't tell her if she could play or not. So she followed him to the bench and sat next to him, thinking for awhile. "Nova can I go play?" She asked a bit nervously, like he was going to yell at her for speaking. Old habits die hard. She just couldn't wrap her brain around the idea that the person caring for her also wanted her to make her own choices when it came to stuff like what she was allowed to do. What if she did something wrong that would've been ok if she had permission?

Nova came back down to his senses when he noticed Lulu next to him, startled a bit he looked toward her. "Of course you can play, i thought you would've been playing by now, i'm sorry Lulu" He said to her while rubbing her head, he got up from the bench and stretched and thought of a idea. "Shall i join you. if you wanna swing i can push you?" Smiling while walking toward the playground and turning back to Lulu. "You coming?" He asked with a smile.

Lulu jumped and flapped towards Nova, smiling brightly and giggling. "That sounds fun!" She said happily as she ran towards the swings, jumping onto one without thought. She got her leg caught up in it and fell flat on her face. She got up after a few seconds, tears in her eyes. But she didn't let herself cry. No more crying. She gulped, wiped off her face and stood up, looking over at Nova. She didn't want him to think she was hurt, despite the small cut she now had on her forehead.

Nova walked up to Lulu brushing off the sand and dirt off of her. "Come here little one" He said grabbing his bag and pulling out his kit, trying to clean her wound and put a small bandage on her forehead. "You might act tough, but i'm still going to take care of you for now" "When we go questing i'm going to have to rely on you as well, so we watch each others back" Exclaiming while having a huge grin on his face, its been awhile since he last had a quest to do. Looking back at Lulu now all patched up, he pointed back toward the swings. "Shall we try this one more time?"

Lulu nodded. "Yeah!" She purred, carefully jumping on the swing once more. She then practically hugged the chains connecting the seat to the top of the set. Her feet kicked back and forth excitedly. "When are we gonna go questing?" She asked happily.

Nova stood behind Lulu gently pushing on the swing. "Hmm soon would be best wouldn't it? He said happily while continuing to push her on the swing. It would be a good change of pace, maybe he Rose and Lulu could go questing and have a good time on their adventure, he would do his best to keep them safe, but they weren't weak either. "But then again, what kind of quest would you prefer to do?" Nova pondered since she was talking about going on a quest earlier.

[Lulu]

"Yeah! I'd love to go on one that's exciting! Like a prince saving a princess! I wanna save a princess! I wanna be a hero!" She exclaimed, wings unfurling. The change caused the swing to start going sideways, and Lulu clung to the chains again in fear. This wasn't normal! Her wings hugged her back again, but the playground item continued to throw her around at an odd angle.

Nova remembered about a quest about saving a princess or something, while thinking about that, he didn't notice that Lulu was startng to swing sideways and becoming frightened. Nova quickly grabbed Lulu's swings and stopped her from swinging randomly, he held the chains and took a deep breath. "You gotta be careful Lulu, you can't get to excited, your wings flap around and changes the air flow, you have to be careful" Nova said as he placed his hand on her head, letting her know he was right there with her.

Lulu looked back at Nova with a quick smile, feeling her racing heart calm down quickly. She again relaxed on the swing, but kept her wings tight against her back to keep herself from swinging sideways once again. "Ok Nova! I got it!" She replied happily. As she settled down she began looking around for any other kids nearby, maybe to play with!

Nova started to catch his breath again and moved a little back from Lulu and the swing, once she got enough motion, he could help push her bit by bit to get at a higher elevation, but only if she seemed like she would want him to. Nova looked at the others family with her kids play in the sand, on the playground and even some on the monkey bars fooling around. He generally loved being in Kiru city, it was a relaxing place, with alot of nice people just having fun.

Lulu wasn't afraid of heights, so she was happy to go as high as the swing would let her. Her eyes roamed over all of the other families, and she felt her heart drop a bit. Mothers and fathers, together, taking care of their kid and loving them. One after the other. She didn't have that. She felt her eyes start to burn with tears but she kept silent about it. She didn't want Nova to worry! She had him now! A surrogate father! And that's more than she could ask for.

Nova continued standing by the swing, placing his hands on her back and pushing her everytime she got close to him. He noticed that she was getting pretty high on the swings, hoping that she was having a good time, he continued watching over her making sure nothing would happen to her or he would spring into action whatever the case would be. He laughed a bit, he was getting really defensive over her like if she was his own flesh and blood.

Lulu watched herself go back and forth, but grew bored of the repetitive motion. So without warning, she jumped off at the peak of the swing's height, stretching out her wings and gliding in the air. She turned herself around and landed carefully on the top of the swings, looking down at Nova. She giggled a bit and hung upsidedown by her legs, hair hanging.

Nova looked as Lulu took off from the swing and glided to the top of the swing. "So having fun there? Gave me a heart attack when u suddenly jumped off" He stated with a small chuckle, looking up at Lulu hanging upside down, he wondered about what they could do. Hey would you want to try going for a small adventure out? I could use some more materials for my black smithing, and we'll be able to probably get a feeling for how it would be when we go out questing for real?
