Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
Kerum finally got the dust from his eyes as he had continued to run higher into the sky each step burning his cut leg. Looking down he was glad he kept moving at the worm plowed through the spot he was just at and straight into the goblin. The sound of crunching could be heard under the worm as he smashed his former ally. "Well, close call but not a bad plan. Now we have to figure out how to kill this thing..." Kerum stated staying in the air. Staying away from the worm as his body was bathed in blue flames that did not burn after it faded all of his wounds were gone. A scab was on his leg not fully healing that one but enough to make it not a hindrance.

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
Leere hit the ground and rolled, landing on his back, watching as his plan actually worked. He let out a sigh of relief, only one enemy left standing, but it wasn't gonna be any easier. Hearing Kerum commenting on kill the wurm, Leere turned his gaze toward Kerum. "Easier said than done. How bout you get over here and we'll figure something out?"
Leere sat up and took a couple gulps of water from his canteen, as he was now drenched in sweat and breathing heavily. He put the canteen back and noticed the wurm staring at him. "What's the matter? Are you upset that I made a fool of you? Your anger is completely pointless. And because of it you will lose."

Kerum rolled his eyes at Leere taunting a worm who already wanted to eat him alive. "Well I would rather stay up here, you wanted to distract him after all." Kerum stated as he too took a few drinks before charging from above stabbing both his blades into the worms back electricity rippling into it. He was using all his strength but he could only get a few inches of the blade into the thick hide of the worm. "Well, it hide is mighty thick," Kerum stated as he pulled the tips out and went higher into the air to be out of reach.

Contemplating Kerum's words, Leere stood up, feeling a bit better after rehydrating. "I understand. You're still upset about me pushing you. Pettiness like that will get you nowhere in your existence." Leere evaluated both Kerum and the wurm as Kerum tried piercing his blades into the creature.
"Alright. We need to figure out how to get through his skin. And since I was bait already the first time, it's your turn to distract him while I try to calculate a strategy." Leere sheathed his dagger, squatting down looking the wurm over, trying to identify any weaknesses that they could exploit to bring it down for good.

"You chose that thank you, and I am not petty." Kerum hissed back at Leere as he let his feet fade away replaced by his boots and landed ontop of the worm. "Get to thinking." Kerum shouted as he snapped the two swords together and spun it around really fast before using both hands to stab into the creatures back this time going a few feet in. Luckily it had ended up being the side that had its lightning bolt recharged. "Hope this does something." Kerum stated as he let the lightning bolt loose inside the creature.
The roar was almost defeaning as he held tight to the sword as the worm bucked around very violently. So bad actually that Kerum lost his feet from under him and was just hanging on as the creature flailed. The bolt must have hurt him greatly for this reaction. With one of the most violent jerked the sword came free as Kerum flew off slamming hard into the sand his sword landing a good ten feet away.

"You can't rush this stuff." Leere watched as Kerum drove his newly formed weapon into the wurm. He was almost intrigued by how Kerum was manipulating the lightning. If they survived this, he would look more into Kerum's abilities. "Quite interesting. This creature's hide would make good armor for those who use that kind of thing."
"Not easy being the distracting one, is it?" Leere's eyes widened as he come up with a thought. "How could I have overlooked something so simple?" He walked over to Kerum, and offered him a hand to help him up. "Resting time's over. We got a wurm to erase from existence. I have a plan if you want to hear it."

Kerum let him help him up ignoring more of his talking. "Let me hear it then." Kerum stated as he quickly ran over to his fallen sword and snatched it up leaving it in its dual blade form and spinning it around and holding it in his right hand. Standing and waiting he watched as the worm finally stopped thrashing and started to turn towards the two of them. Hopefully this plan wasn't as half baked as the rest of his ideas or they might be in trouble.

"Well, if we were able to bypass his tough hide, we should in theory be able to get to his softer innards." Leere drew his dagger and threw it up into the air, catching it with his right hand. He turned toward the wurm and immediately saw the small cut he originally gave it in the beginning of the fight. He also remembered the stab wound on its back, as well as the damage done by Kerum. "You may not have noticed, but the thing already has several open wounds, so we need to focus on making those wounds even deeper. Easy enough. Granted, I may need to create some more openings in its hide for you if we intend to end it."

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
Kerum nodded it was a sensible plan. "So to clarify we just need to open those wounds big enough for me to char its insides?" Kerum asked as he started to walk away from Leere not out of rudeness but because flanking this beast was the only logical option. They needed to weaken that much was certain. This was not a creature he ever wanted to fight alone. Even with the damage he had inflicted as well as Leere's it seemed as if they had barely phased it.

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
"Basically, but doing and saying are two very distinct things." Leere moved the opposite way of Kerum, whistling as he did so, certain the wurm would still be upset with him. Running his thumb over the blade of his dagger, Leere nicked his thumb, and a drop of blood emerged from the wound. "You want this don't you? Well, come get it." By doing so, Leere hoped to get the creature's undivided attention, hopefully providing Kerum with a clear shot at it.

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
Kerum just rolled his eyes and then started to run, luckily the blood did seem to draw the worms attentions as Kerum sped past the worm. With a few quick slashes he hit the same spot a few times the electricity still not doing to much. It roared out in anger and started to thrash Kerum's way which should give Leere a clear opening to further deepen the wounds he had earlier made.

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
Leere sighed, had he overestimated Kerum's lightning abilities? Either way, with the wurm transitioning it's focus to Kerum, Leere licked the blood from his thumb, and tightened his grip on his Empty Razor, and caused it to heat up again, using Crimson Cutter for a second time. He dashed toward the first cut he made on the wurm's side.
He first started by stabbing his searing hot blade into the open wound, and tearing the blade up the wound, causing the wound to bleed again and doubling the length of the cut. Having drawn the creature's attention yet again, Leere jumped to the side, waiting for the wurm to try to launch an attack on him, and in the process exposing the new wound to Kerum.

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
He was really impressed with Leere as he seemed to rip through the worm like it was nothing at all. His elelctricity was strong but for some reason it was not enough. Growling he charged forward and sliced two more times as hard as he could further lengthening the blade. "My bolts are not ready yet, we need to buy more time." Kerum stated as he tried to run away but the worm flailed slamming him hard in the chest sending him flying. The impact with the ground was much worse then anticipated as the sand ripped at his skin as he rolled across it.

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
Leere could only watch as his teammate got tossed around by the wurm's attack. "Come on, Kerum, are those feathers just for show?" If Kerum needed more time, Leere would have to be the one to provide him with the needed time. He needed to do something, something that would really get the wurm's attention, something that would keep it quite occupied. Leere cooled down his Empty Razor, cancelling out his Crimson Cutter power. He run up to the wurm's side and plunged his hand into the wound. If he could feel disgust, this would have been the worst thing he's ever felt.
The wurm had enough of Leere making a fool of it, and turned toward him. The wurm spit out its Poisonous Shot at Leere. With his hand still stuck inside the creature, Leere could not escape the spit. Immediately Leere's body began to burn up, his legs trembling, he felt his energy leaving his body, and as a result, his hand dropped out of the wound and dangled at Leere's side. The wurm raised up its body and slammed down on Leere. Using his last bit of strength, Leere barely donned his Burning Cloak before getting slammed into the ground. He was buried into the sand by the attack, his coat fading away after the impact.

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
Pulling himself up from the ground he heard Leeres comment about the armor. Well it was leather so it only helped so much, but as he said that he let he fire engulf him as his sand burns healed up, he knew he had to end this especially when Leere got spit on and sent into the ground.
Dashing forward he ripped his swords apart both of them glowing a bit brighter as he charged in and screamed stabbing both blades deep into the exposed wound all of his swords were inside of it as the creature started to spasm trying to throw Kerum off. "This ends." With great strain he held onto the blades and then let both bolts of electricity go as the entire inside of the worm flashed blue even through its skin. And then it started to turn to white dust, Kerum falling to his knees. Three very small worms fell out and then quickly burrowed away.

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
Even in his weakened state, Leere could hear some struggling coming from close by. He extended his arms and tried to pull himself out of the sand, but the best he could do was getting his upper body up, using his arms and hands behind him to prop himself up.
He looked out to where the wurm was, but only the tail end of three small wurms burrowing into the sand. "Great... We're gonna have too erase those things too." He mumbled, barely audible over the sound of his breathing. He dropped back down, partially due to his fatigue, but also due to the fact that he actually found a person who's powers seem to be of some use. "Well, where do we go to know?" Leere inquired, still laying in the sand.

Kerum slowly stood up panting as he sheathed his swords. "It will be a long time before those three worms will be big enough to cause any serious damage. Plus I doubt they will surface any time soon either." Kerum stated as he walked over to Leere and grabbed his arm helping pull him up, his skin felt like it was on fire. Throwing Leeres arm around his should he held him up as he pulled out some water. "Here drink."

Leere felt himself being helped up by Kerum. He would rather be able to stand on his own two feet, but at this point, he allowed someone to assist him. "Guess we'll be back in time to deal with those little buggers in the future then." At the offering of water, Leere drank a few large gulps, and with it, he could already feel his skin's temperature drop a degree or two. With that little bit of relief, Leere raised his arms and poured more of the water into his mouth. After a moment of drinking, Leere eyes feel to Kerum. "I don't know about you, but the desert isn't a good place to fight. Let's start heading back, and get somewhere colder."

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
Kerum nodded his agreement as he let Leere stand on his own and have his canteen. "I am almost out of water though, and you will need as much as possible to stay functioning, it could become rough." Kerum stated as he started the long walk back. Pulling out a compass he found the right direction, they didn't need to get lost out here. Not to mention other goblins could be out and about. The two had actually made quite the team especially not knowing anything about each other or how they fought.

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
For a brief moment, Leere's legs wobbled as he tried to carry himself. He steadied himself, and took a couple steps forward, figuring out how stable he was at the moment. Without a moment's hesitation, Leere drank the rest of the water in Kerum's canteen, before handing the empty canteen back to him. Leere gazed out on the horizon, and what he saw out some pep in his step. Just a ways away from him, a glistening oasis shimmered in the distant. "We won't need to worry about water with that oasis right over there."
Leere hobbled toward what he saw, and once he reached the water, he dove in, feeling it cooling him off. He swam through it, and drank from it as he swam, but little did he know, it was merely a mirage, the dehydration and fatigue obscuring his reality.

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
A exasperated sigh left Kerum's mouth as he caught the now empty canteen and tilted it upside down to watch a single drop fall evaporating even before it hit the ground. Before he could make a comment he heard the words leere had stated. "What in the world are you talking about."
Following he almost couldn't help but laugh as he fell into the sand rolling holding his stomach. "Leere... your drinking sand, there is no oasis its a mirage." He was still laughing quite a bit. Hopefully by telling him this he would understand.

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
In his mind, Leere was covered in cold water, as he looked back at Kerum laughing, uncertain of what was happening. As he took a deep breath, the oasis once surrounding Leere turned into a sea of sand, as he realized his mouth was full of warm sand, not cool water. And the cold water he thought he was drenched in was truly his sweat completely covering his body. He couldn't believe that he of all people fell for something as trivial as a mirage.
Leere got back up to his feet and drank a bit of water from his own canteen, his skin still warm, but not boiling like it was before. He brush the sand off his clothes, and walked over to Kerum. "If you're done laughing over here, I say we get moving before you start drinking sand as well. Mirages may begin to fool your mind too."

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
KErum laughed for a minute or two more before pulling himself up and dusting of the sand. "Sorry but it was funny." Kerum stated as he started off again towards civilization. "So, what did you do to your dagger to help you cut the worms flesh?" Kerum asked as he figured now would be the best time to ask him about his powers if he was willing to tell him. Most of what Leere had done during that fight he had missed because of his own fights and the worm blocking his few.

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
Feeling some sand still left on his tongue, Leere spit a couple times, until he finally felt the last of the grainy bits of sand were out of his mouth. Leere lifts up his jacket to reveal his dagger attached to his right hip. "I take it you mean this?" With that, Leere lets his jacket drop back down over his dagger, realizing that Kerum must not have seen much of Leere's fight with the wurm.
Leere then pointed upwards toward the sky. "Notice how the sun seems to be burning our skin right now. My blade basically heats up to similar temperatures, allowing me to cut through things with less resistance." After the brief explanation, Leere looked over Kerum. "Since we're on the subject, how is it you have such free control of what appears to be some kind of glowing energy?"

Re: (Quest) Trouble beneath the sands
The explination was rather useful, so he just heated it up which allowed him to cut through things easier. "Not a bad skill." Kerum stated as he pulled out one of his swords. "Well, it is electricity, the swords themselves are magical and basically solidified lightning. They electrocute anything they touch and I can cause them to send out bolts of electricity but they must recharge afterwards." Kerum explained as he spun the sword around and then sheathed it.
