The Gathering (Open)

The walk towards town was a long and tedious one. With the dark sky pressing down on the earth shining with only the grace of the golden moon. It was still hard for the man to walking blinded by all. Depth and fire from life only brought one to be burned with ashes from helplessness. Looking down to his map he looked for a way out. Looking down to the last two pieces of bread he had, quickly stuffing the two in his mouth, the only thing he could do was hope the pieces would satisfy his belly till he got to town. The man knew that town lead to money, money lead to food and living, living lead to happiness and joy...hopefully...
Dashing towards a barn he jumped up to spot of a way to see if he was still heading in the right direction. After making it up to the second floor, he darted his attention to his surroundings. East to west, north to south he scanned for a way point. After spending a few to many moments, out in the out reaches of his eye site he found a road that lead to where he needed to go. Jumping down from three story's he landed and bolted towards the street.

Kurei was sleeping near the road, he had made camp earlier on and was in the most comforting sleep he had in a while. With the sound of footsteps approaching Kurei sat up and quickly turned his head left and right, hopping onto his feet and placing his hand to his blade. Gazing at the road in front of him he looked towards a dark shadowy figure (due to it being night) cross the road.
"I wonder what someone would be doing at this hour, probably a thief. .should I intervene? After all I may be mistaken" ~ He said to himself in a low inaudible tone. With a moments delay he had made his decision.
"Stop! Who goes there ?" ~ Kurei had shouted and began chasing the person or living being.

Two hours had passed but, nothing but a long nonstop dash to a start. With wrath of the mans stomach, vision and hearing was cut short. Bolting life his life was on its last legs he steady bolted forward. Closer and closer he ran getting closer and closer to the street. Soon there barley was any land between. A loud burst of noisy popped through the air, like a nightly singing breeze. There sat a being in front of him. With his vision blurred only fragments of sight still showed itself to him. The hunger was kicking him in all directions and the man hit the third step of starvation.
Fear busted out, like that of a person seeing the end. "Who is out there!?" ,talking a step back, he shouted out with his rushed breath.
The silence drove the man mad. Seeing that it was just another of his delusions, he dashed away. The man knew that he was no way near any source of food nor water. The insanity creep in deeper, dulling the senses, the hunger written man lost his grip on what was still here. In the eyes of chaos, all was saw is the road. Long dark paths with lines... With that, the man started to laugh in a sickening tone. With grace leaving its peaceful hand, the darkness ravaged the soul. The decaying, site gripped it darkness on a small squirrel near by. Like a moth running to a light, the man galloped towards the meat.
Slathering the poor creature of any good death the man, bite off the poor things head subsequently  fisting the thing in half. Sparking a flame, he smiled as it was roasted alive. A few minutes passed and the meal was done. Digging in, the more he ate. The saner be became, this was good. Finishing the meal he looked to see if he could catch another. This time there where a few more. Quickly bolting into the fray. Pelting the rest with stone from the ground he quickly picked them up and twisted off there heads. Cutting them into with a little knife he had in his pocket he sat them down. All six pieces, he knew that he would eat four now and save the other two for later just in case. Laying back watching the fire cook what was laid out it wasn't long before he question why he was eating meat. To him and his village, he knew that meat was forbidden. To eat the brethren of the forest was to commit the ultimate sin. He looked once more at the meat..."It shouldn't matter if I just eat this much..."
The meat finshed, scarfing up the last four pieces he would feast upon today he wrapped the left over with a fat leaf he had. packed once more, with map and hand. and walked forward. To the city he was heading and to the city he wanted to be. For there was a great deal of things he wanted to do and a great deal he wanted to see.
It had been a great few hours since that last ordeal. The man had made the long journey across the plain to make it here. This was his start, his beginning, and now it was time to get ready for the life he always wanted.
